Shenseea, a then teenage mother from Jamaica and born into a modest family, may not have been the obvious choice for the title of the next potential dancehall queen. However, she followed her own voice and advised others facing similar challenges to do the same.
In an interview with EBONY, she shared her experience of navigating the music industry after deciding to pursue a career in music.

After five years of hard work and collaborations with established artists such as Vybz Kartel, Sean Paul, Meg The Stallion and Kanye West, Shenseea released her debut album “Alpha” in March last year, which went on to claim its place among the respective charts. Shenseea has learned the importance of patience and recognizes that it takes time to learn, grow, and make mistakes to achieve greatness.
Despite her success and recognition, including securing a coveted spot in the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup, Shenseea has bigger plans for her career and personal joy. She recently announced to fans that she is on the last lap of completing new music.
