Richard Roache, the acclaimed music producer, has unleashed yet another awe-inspiring creation with the release of the Roots and Righteousness Riddim. Produced under the banner of Digital One Records, the project became available on February 17 and has already garnered widespread acclaim.
According to Roache, the concept of the riddim was developed before the beat was created, and he sought the assistance of Aston Wailers, the lead musician of The Wailers, to bring it to life. Aston Wailers played every instrument, and the riddim was completed thereafter; it was about finding the right artists who fit perfectly.
The project features a stellar cast of ten artists, including Junior Reid, Mykal Rose, Lutan Fyah, Bugle, Duane Stephenson, Sizzla, Mr. Pike, Warrior King, Ibo Fyah and Jesse Royal. Roache, who had worked with some of the talents before, was confident in their ability to produce top-quality music.
He expressed his appreciation for the artists, saying, “I consider myself blessed to have two front runners who were the lead singer of Black Uhuru at one point, Junior Reid and Mykal Rose. I saved the files as roots because it was rootsy, and all the artists performed amazingly; they all brought forward profound messages in their own right.”
Roache revealed that the riddim was carefully crafted over a period of six months, with a group of talented individuals working together to achieve perfection. He acknowledged the contributions of Aston Wailers, Fire Wayne, Sukku Ward, John GQ, Executive Producer Wesley Barnett, his business partner Ethiopian, and all the artists who supported him.
Now that the project is officially released, Roache has high hopes for its success. He’s optimistic that it will reach as many people as possible and its powerful messages will resonate with worldwide audiences. He describes the riddim as “Reggae Gold” and hopes that it will inspire a renewed love for real Reggae music.
