Agent Sasco, a prominent figure in the Jamaican music industry, continues to receive recognition for his contributions to music and nation-building.

Sasco, whose given name is Jeffrey Campbell, was recently named “Entertainer of the Year” by the Harvard University Caribbean Club following his performance at their Jubilee dinner, where he was also the guest of honour. The Jubilee, held under the theme “Many Nations: One Family – Celebrating Our People, Progress, and Prosperity,” is an annual event organized by the student body at Harvard University that celebrates and promotes Caribbean culture, history, and issues within the Harvard community.

Following the affair, Agent Sasco took to his official Instagram account to express his gratitude for the accolade, posting multiple pictures of the occasion with the caption, “I am honored and grateful. #GiveThanks #HarvardUniversity #CaribbeanClub #HCC”

In addition to this recent honour, Sasco was also conferred with the Order of Distinction (O.D.) at Jamaica’s National Honours and Awards Ceremony last October. He was elevated to the rank of officer for his “outstanding contribution to music, philanthropy, and positive pro-social message to youths.” The Order of Distinction is the sixth-highest award a Jamaican citizen can attain and is conferred on those who render important and outstanding services to Jamaica or any distinguished citizen of another country.

With his national award, Agent Sasco now joins an illustrious group of musical creatives who have attained the same accolade, including Burning Spear, Rita Marley, Shaggy, Yellowman, Mighty Diamond, Alton Ellis, Prince Buster, Ken Boothe, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Gregory Isaacs, and Sean Paul.
