Forbes has reported that JAY-Z’s net worth has increased to $2.5 billion following the sale of his 50 percent stake in D’USSÉ to Bacardi for $750 million, retaining a significant ownership stake in the cognac brand.
This places him as the 1,203rd richest person in the world. In addition to Roc Nation and Armand de Brignac, JAY-Z also sold a 50 percent stake in his luxury champagne brand to LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in 2021.
JAY-Z’s entrepreneurial spirit continues as he joins an investment group to open the first full-scale casino in New York City’s Times Square and partners with Jeff Bezos to potentially purchase the Washington Commanders.
Diddy, who became hip-hop’s second-richest man with a net worth of $1 billion, plans to expand his business portfolio with a majority ownership stake in BET, in addition to his Ciroc partnership with Diageo, DeLeón Tequila, and REVOLT media network.
Other hip-hop artists such as Kanye West, Berner, and Dr. Dre were included on a 2022 list of wealthiest hip-hop artists by former Forbes editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg, with Kanye West holding a net worth of $500 million, Berner at $410 million, and Dr. Dre with $400 million.
