The sparks are flying once again.
Nelly and Ashanti have once again set tongues wagging about their romantic status after they were spotted sporting identical chains. Fans were quick to notice the iced-out Cuban link that Ashanti was wearing around her neck, which was identical to the one Nelly had been seen wearing in recent appearances, including the Grammys. A side-by-side photo of the two wearing the same chain only fueled the rumors about their relationship.
“They not slick,” commented one fan, while others were excited about the potential for a reconciliation. “I’m so here for this!!!”
This is not the first time the former couple has shown public displays of affection. At a concert in Arizona last December, they were seen grinding against each other while performing their 2008 hit collaboration “Body On Me.”
During an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” last year, Ashanti was asked about her relationship with Nelly. She responded by saying, “We’re in a better place ’cause before it was like…” while making a punching motion. “But you know, we’re cool now. We had some conversations, you know, so it was cool.”
The couple originally met at a Grammy press conference in 2003 and dated for a decade before breaking up. Ashanti is well aware of the fans’ desire to see them back together, saying, “I saw a lot of comments. My reaction was wow. It was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that.”
