Canadian Rap superstar Drake is hinting at a possible retirement in the near future. In an interview with Lil Yachty for the FUTUREMOOD sunglasses company, Drake discussed the concept of a “graceful exit.”
“I think I’m at the point now where I just wanna, like, I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day, but I feel like I’m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,” Drake said.
However, the context of his comments is unclear as only a clip from their conversation has been released, with the full interview set to come out on Friday. Drake has been actively releasing music and collaborating with other artists, including two projects last year, Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss, featuring 21 Savage. He also teased new music during his Apollo show in January.
“At this moment in time, none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least,” Drake told fans. “And I hope I can strike up more emotions for you, maybe this year. I might get bored and make another one, who knows!”
It remains to be seen whether the artist’s days as a rapper are numbered or not.
