Dancehall icon Bounty Killer has once again been thrust into the international spotlight after American R&B singer Mya revealed that she has an upcoming collaboration with the deejay.
She made the revelation during a backstage interview following her performance at the just-concluded “Lovers and Friends” showcase in Priory, St.Ann, on February 18. The event also featured Bobby Valentino, Rotimi and local stars Sizzla Kalonji, Christopher Martin, and Alaine, among others.
Though not providing any granular details, she noted that it’s “cultural and something you can dance to”.
Known for hits such as “Fallen” and “Best of Me“, the latter featuring Jay-Z, the American songbird says she has used the pandemic to her benefit to complete two albums due for release in the foreseeable future.
Back in 2019, Mya and Ding Dong made magic with “Hands Free” on the Sexting Riddim. And, just a few years earlier, she teamed up with Spice on “Take Him Out” in 2013, and lent her silky smooth vocals to Beenie Man’s classic “Girls Dem Sugar.”
