As Burna Boy’s private jet takes off from the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, the Nigerian international music star can’t help but feel a sense of sadness at leaving the island he has come to love.
Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy to his fans, has spent the past few days vacationing at the luxurious Tryall Club and partying at some of Montego Bay’s hottest nightspots, including Yush, Taboo, and 2727. But it’s not just the island’s nightlife that has captured Burna Boy’s heart – he has also fallen for the warmth and hospitality of the Jamaican people.
As he says goodbye to Delano Seivewright, Senior Advisor/Strategist at the Ministry of Tourism, and Odette Dyer, Regional Director of the Jamaica Tourist Board, Burna Boy can’t resist expressing his love for Jamaica and its people. And the feeling is mutual – Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, who is currently overseas, has promised to ensure that Burna Boy has an unforgettable vacation on the island in the New Year.
In fact, Burna Boy is so fascinated with Jamaica that he is considering purchasing a home on the island. Until then, he will have to content himself with memories of his amazing vacation – and the Jamaican souvenirs presented to him by Seivewright and Dyer as he departs.
