Popular Jamaican vocalist Shenseea seems to have a gripe with some of the current trends in pop culture. One, in particular, is the trendy slang “bro”, which many westerners, especially Americans, tend to use when informally engaging someone, regardless of gender.
Though a contributor to the pop culture landscape herself, Shenseea has taken to social media to voice her disapproval of the popular slang. In a Twitter rant, she wrote,
“I just think a man addressing his woman as “bro” is disrespectful, like, where’s the love?? das just me tho”
The post triggered mixed reactions from her followers, with the overarching view that it’s done from a place of “comfort” when two persons are involved in a committed relationship.
Spotted at American music mogul Diddy’s 53rd birthday celebrations in Los Angeles, California, the “Blessed” hitmaker is now gearing up for the MTV European Music Awards 2022 (EMA).
Set to unfold on November 13 at the PSD Bank Dome, a multifunctional indoor stadium in Düsseldorf, Germany, the event will see Shenseea, a first-time nominee competing in the “Best Push” category against eleven other contenders.
Other MTV EMA 2022 debutants include Chencho Corleone, GAYLE, Stephen Sanchez, Dove Cameron, Doechii, Baby Keem, Kim Petras, Mae Muller, Saucy Santana, Summer Walker, Wet Leg, among others.
