Trinidadian rap star Nicki Minaj has hinted at the possibility of a visit to Jamaica later this year to meet with some of the various personalities with whom she has only communicated online.
On Thursday, the American-based rapper joined dancehall artist Pamputtae for an Instagram Livestream. During the exchange, Nicki expressed her admiration for Jamaican culture and her desire to visit the island. Further disclosing how deeply Caribbean culture has influenced her and how her “spirit” has taken a fondness to Pamputtae.
“I might come to Jamaica this year, around December time, I might come. and I can’t wait to come and I can’t wait to meet you, you’re one of those people I can’t wait to meet,” she stated during the live session.
This latest revelation comes on the heels of the release of an extended version of “Likkle Miss”, which include features from Trinidadian soca stars Destra Garcia and Patrice Roberts alongside Jamaican dancehall acts Spice, Lisa Mercedez, Lady Leshurr, Dovey Magnum, London Hill and Pamputtae.
Spanish Town-based deejay Skeng originally released Likkle Miss with an accompanying video. Nicki Minaj did a subsequent remix, also complimented with new visuals. The original video has amassed over 3.4 million views, with Nicki’s remix accumulating just over 2.7 million views to date.
