Murder-accused Constable Noel Maitland, charged with the death of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Donna-Lee Donaldson, faces new charges.
Prosecutors argued against the constable’s bail application on Tuesday, citing murder and the related charge of preventing the lawful burial of a corpse.
The additional charge was disclosed when he appeared in downtown Kingston’s Home Circuit Court.
Noel Maitland, arrested on July 27 and charged with Donaldson’s disappearance, remains in custody. On July 11, Donaldson was last seen at his apartment in New Kingston. Her body has yet to be discovered.
She was officially reported missing on July 13,
Police say they have determined that Donaldson was murdered on July 12 between 4 and 8 o’clock in the evening. This is said to be supported by forensic evidence and technology. However, the motivation for the murder has yet to be ascertained.
