The Supreme Court has scheduled a case management hearing for this Friday, September 16, in the murder case of Noel Maitland, police constable and boyfriend of missing social media personality, Donna-Lee Donaldson.
As part of the case preparation prior to trial, an administrative hearing is held to settle any unresolved matters. The proceedings will involve a judge and attorneys for both sides to discuss the case’s potential legal implications.
This latest development stems from a previous court session where the prosecution declined to give witness statements requested by the defence, resulting in the bail application for murder suspect Noel Maitland being postponed until September 16.
At the time, a prosecutor’s office spokesperson explained to the court that the decision to withhold materials, including remarks from Donaldson’s mother, Sophia Lugg, was made to safeguard the witnesses.
Donna-Lee Donaldson’s boyfriend, Maitland, is currently charged with murder in connection with her disappearance.
