Aidonia and Notnice Records recently collaborated on the revitalized Street Vybz Riddim 2.0, set for an official release during Reggae Month’s ‘Dancehall Week.’ In anticipation of the full compilation, the duo unveiled the infectious party anthem ‘Bottles,’ which has garnered consistent traction since its debut on the local dancehall circuit and diaspora airwaves.
Enhancing the promotional efforts, the 4th Genna head honcho received a significant endorsement from American rap star Rick Ross on Saturday. Ross reposted a snippet of the video on his Instagram timeline, reaching over 19.3 million followers, and left a comment on Aidonia’s official account, expressing, “Big Biggg 🔥.” In response, Aidonia shared a screenshot of the comment, reposting it on his own page with the caption, “BIG BIGG RESPECT ENUH ROZAYY @camparicaribbean U KNO I GOT IT OVER HERE TELL RICK ROSS @richforever SEND BOTTLES OF @officialbelaire.”
The official video for “Bottles” quickly gained momentum, amassing over 284,000+ views in just two days and currently occupying the No.13 spot on the YouTube Trending Music Chart in Jamaica. The video continues to experience a surge in streaming numbers.
The compilation project also features other notable acts, namely Jah Vinci, Nordia Mothersille, Skeng, and Najeeriii, along with a few unexpected surprises. Chronic Law also graces the roster with “Weekend,” a single accompanied by an official video released a month prior, amassing over 1.3 million views on YouTube.
Reflecting on the past, the mention of Aidonia and Notnice would evoke images of conflict due to their affiliations with rival camps associated with the contentious Gaza and JOP/4th Genna outfits. However, today, the adversarial atmosphere has dissipated.
