A few years ago, the mere mention of Aidonia and Notnice would evoke images of conflict, as the two were aligned with rival camps associated with the contentious Gaza and JOP/4th Genna outfits. However, today, that adversarial atmosphere has dissipated, and the duo has forged a musical partnership through Notnice’s latest venture, the ‘Street Vybz Riddim 2.0.’
Recently, Aidonia was captured on the set of a video shoot for his upcoming single “Bottles,” produced by the accomplished maestro on the Notnice Records imprint. This single is also part of the forthcoming Street Vybz Riddim 2.0 compilation scheduled for an early February release.
“Aidonia’s song is part of the larger project set to be released in February, coinciding with Dancehall Week,” shared Notnice with Prism Marketing Consultants.
Dancehall Week, the newest addition to the official Reggae Month calendar, celebrates the culture of dancehall and has received official endorsements from various state entities, including the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth, Culture, Gender Sports and Entertainment, and the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
Referring to his collaboration with Aidonia, Notnice said, “Working with Aidonia was a great experience, and from it emerged a hit song.” He also hinted at future releases, stating, “Fans of dancehall can anticipate more hit songs; the industry needs more jugglings. As for the rehashing of Street Vybz Riddim, the demand from the people led me to oblige.”
The project features other notable acts, including Jah Vinci, Nordia Mothersille, Skeng, and Najeeriii, along with a few unexpected surprises. Chronic Law also graces the roster with “Weekend,” a single accompanied by an official video released two weeks prior, amassing over 1 million views on YouTube.
Looking ahead, Notnice has additional projects in the pipeline, including his sophomore album slated for release later this year. The accomplished hitmaker emphasized that, at present, the focus remains on the completion and promotion of Street Vybz Riddim 2.0.
