Red Bull Culture Clash is regarded in some spaces as the ultimate sound clash event. This one-night spectacle brings together four dynamic crews representing some of the city’s, in this case, Atlanta’s hottest parties.Â
At the 2023 edition staged at the Gateway Center Arena, the crews included “Rum Punch Brunch,” led by Tony Matterhorn, Sir DJ Corey and Willy Chin, “Perreo404” featuring DJs Unruely and The Canterbury Tales, “Bamba Tuesdays” guided by DJs Kash, DangerVybz, and Polish, and “Mashup Sessions,” captained by DJ EU and Nino Augustine all converging on one stage, igniting a fierce competition and delivering the freshest sounds in dancehall, reggaeton, amapiano, and hip-hop.
The event unfolded as a four-round battle, with each crew unleashing booming soundscapes and unveiling unreleased tracks. It was a battle of intense rivalry, enriched by an exciting lineup of special guests and surprises. Dancehall stars Aidonia, Govana, Mr Lexx, Teejay and Vanessa Bling made impromptu appearances, exciting the Atlanta audience with a plethora of hits, further intensifying the competition as each contender aimed to capture the crowd’s hearts and outshine their adversaries. In the end, it was Tony Matterhorn, Sir DJ Corey, Willy Chin and the Rum Punch Brunch crew that emerged as ultimate champions.
Inspired by Jamaican sound system culture, Red Bull Culture Clash offers head-to-head performances from these four crews, transcending the traditional boundaries of DJ battles or band competitions. This event not only showcases the unique musical and cultural offerings of the host city but also pays homage to its historical significance and future potential.Â
Each crew takes charge of their stage, engaging in a four-round showdown that encompasses powerful tunes, fierce competition, and an exhilarating lineup of special guests, all designed to captivate the audience and prove their supremacy because, at Red Bull Culture Clash, it is the crowd that ultimately decides the victor.
