Fresh from captivating audiences across Europe, Canada, and the United Kingdom, dancehall sensation Valiant has returned to Jamaica in preparation for his highly anticipated debut performance at this year’s Reggae Sumfest.
In a recent interview with local media, Valiant delved into various topics, including the release of his latest mixtape, “4:14“, his successful UK/European stint, and new partnership with regional telecommunications giant Digicel. He also announced an upcoming collaboration with fellow dancehall artist Byron Messia from St. Kitts and Nevis while providing updates on his forthcoming EP.
Valiant shared that he is working on an EP to be released later this year but remained tight-lipped about any details regarding his debut album.
Reflecting on the tour, the 24-year-old entertainer expressed his gratitude for witnessing non-English speaking fans singing along to his songs and the overwhelming support he received in countries like Greece, France, and Spain. Notably, his tracks “Speed Off,” “Dunce Check,” “CAL,” and “Narcissist” garnered significant engagement throughout Europe.
Addressing his corporate partnership with Digicel, Valiant underscored that it does not restrict his artistic expression. He made it clear that despite occasionally controversial content, he aims to strike a balance and prove that artists can maintain corporate appeal. He also commended his partnership with Romeich Entertainment, stating that it has been the “right alignment” for his career.
