Comedian Nigel Theron Joseph, known professionally as Majah Hype, has been released from a Georgia jail after being held without bond for 33 days.
Hype was arrested on February 19 by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and charged with making terroristic threats, acts, and simple battery, with the terroristic threat charge being considered a felony in the state of Georgia.
Following his release on March 24, the comedian shared a photo of himself celebrating his freedom outside the correctional facility and also received an outpouring of support from fans during an Instagram Live session.
This isn’t the first time Hype has faced legal trouble; he was arrested in January 2021 over an alleged incident with his ex-girlfriend, Latisha Kirby Farrell, and booked on charges of simple battery, making terroristic threats, and kidnapping. However, he was granted bond in that case in the amount of $15,000.
Despite the recent arrests, Hype has a loyal fanbase who continue to support him.
