On Thursday evening, select invitees were treated to an intimate musical presentation by trending reggae-dancehall artist Jahshii.
Hosted by Hennessy, the event dubbed “Soiree – A Night In Tulum” saw members of the various echelons spanning the entertainment, media, business and political class streaming into the TAC Bar, Devon House for the memorable affair.
Donning a lavender, grey and white ensemble, Jahshii served up a carefully curated thirty-minute acoustic set with songs such as Perseverance, Born Fighter, God’s Gift, Stronger, and Top a The World, to the delight of the attentive audience. His presentation was backed by a five-piece band comprising a violinist, percussionist, acoustic guitar and a pair of harmony singers.
Speaking with members of the media following his presentation, Jahshii intimated that he was pleased with the opportunity to showcase his talent to a different audience,
“This is a different setting from what is normal in dancehall. Performing in this type of space requires a different approach and more versatility, and I am satisfied I was able to deliver,” – He noted.
Among those in the audience were Mark and Emily Shields, Hennessy representative Daniella McLean and other principals, Spragga Benz, entertainment practitioner Allison Hunte, Campari directors, members of Parliament and the local business community.
Still one of the most talked about acts coming out of this year’s Rebel Salute, Jahshii is expected to depart the island this weekend for an assignment in Grenada on February 6th.
