Capleton’s fiery dancehall delivery and Tarrus Riley’s soulful reggae vocals are set to take centre stage in New Jersey as the Jamaican stars headline the RoadBlock Radio Concert Series at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on Friday, November 27, 2026. The Thanksgiving-weekend concert brings together two distinctive voices in Jamaican music, with Capleton promoting his album Heights Of Fire for Grammy consideration and Riley building on a recent three-night residency in The Bahamas. Presented by RoadBlockRadio.com, RoadBlock Radio 101.1FM•HD3 and CCB INT’L, the show begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets start at US$65.
Capleton, widely known as “The Fireman”, “King Shango” and “The Prophet”, has built a career on commanding performances, spiritual themes and socially conscious music. His catalogue includes Tour, while his albums Prophecy and I-Testament helped connect reggae and dancehall with hip-hop through collaborations with artists including Method Man and Q-Tip. His current Heights Of Fire Grammy consideration campaign adds another talking point to his ongoing musical journey, although consideration does not constitute an official nomination.
Meanwhile, Riley, popularly known as “Mr Singy Singy”, continues to connect with audiences through expressive vocals and songs exploring love, cultural identity and social issues. Born in the Bronx and raised in Jamaica, he is the son of veteran reggae singer Jimmy Riley. His breakthrough album, Parables, featured the signature hit “She’s Royal”, helping establish him as a leading voice in contemporary roots reggae. His catalogue also includes Contagious, Love Situation and Healing. Most recently, Riley completed a three-night residency at Jon Batiste’s Jazz Club at Baha Mar in The Bahamas, following reported strong demand for the initial performances.
The New Jersey concert will offer audiences an opportunity to experience the contrast between Capleton’s high-energy delivery and Riley’s melodic, emotionally driven performance style. With both artistes representing different yet complementary dimensions of Jamaican reggae, the event is positioned as a Thanksgiving-weekend celebration for Caribbean music lovers and the wider diaspora.
Tickets are available through the NJPAC Box Office and Ticketmaster.com, with prices starting at US$65. For fans in New Jersey and the wider New York metropolitan area, November 27 promises an evening centred on the enduring appeal of Jamaican music and two performers whose catalogues continue to reach audiences across generations.
