Skillibeng has officially entered elite territory. The Jamaican dancehall star recently earned his fourth gold certification for his feature on “Jump”—a high-profile collaboration with Grammy-winning South African artist Tyla and U.S. rapper Gunna. Certified gold in the United States on July 29 by the RIAA for surpassing 500,000 units sold, the genre-blending anthem has also gone gold in Canada, Brazil, and New Zealand, and platinum in South Africa. His performance of the track at the 2024 BET Awards further cemented his rising star status on international stages.

“Jump” wasn’t just a commercial win—it was a critical success, too. The track charted across multiple Billboard categories, including the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and World Digital Song Sales, while also making waves in over ten countries globally. From the UK to Nigeria, Skillibeng’s unmistakable patois and lyrical presence added a dancehall edge to the otherwise Afrobeats-meets-hip-hop fusion. It’s this adaptability that has positioned him as a versatile and credible collaborator across continents and genres.

That same genre-hopping prowess is on full display in “Shake It To The Max (Fly) [Remix]”, where Skillibeng teamed up with MOLIY, Shenseea, and Silent Addy for what would become a record-breaking global hit. On July 29, the remix surged to No. 1 on the Shazam Global Top 10, becoming the most searched song in the world. “We’re number one in command globally,” MOLIY declared, and it was Skillibeng’s fiery verse that helped give the song its dancehall credibility and viral edge. The collaboration reflects the evolving soundscape where African and Caribbean sounds blend seamlessly—Skillibeng at the center of it all.

As of August 4, the remix’s official video has amassed over 129 million YouTube views, making it the fastest-rising visual of Skillibeng’s career and his first to enter the coveted 100M+ club. It has also surpassed 500,000 units sold in the U.S., making it eligible for RIAA Gold certification. The achievement not only showcases his growing influence in digital spaces but underscores the commercial viability of dancehall-infused global pop when done right.

Whether trading bars with Gunna, dominating airwaves with Tyla, or crossing cultural boundaries on viral anthems with MOLIY and Shenseea, Skillibeng is not just reacting to the moment—he’s helping to shape it. His 2025 trajectory is proof that dancehall, when fused strategically with global genres, doesn’t just travel—it dominates. And Skillibeng is proving to be one of the genre’s most reliable messengers.
