Dancehall sensation Skeng ignited excitement across the scene on Friday, June 13, with the release of his long-awaited mixtape, 13th Street Tape — a 13-track offering that delivers a raw and unfiltered glimpse into life from his own gritty, streetwise perspective. Released independently under his Ratty Gang Entertainment label and distributed by OneRPM, the project captures Skeng at his most authentic, blending hard truths with infectious energy that speaks directly to the streets.
“I’ve been on the other side of the business recently, so a likkle quiet. I had to turn the previous wins into long-term assets for my family. But this ting here is for me to connect back to the ground before I go shake up back di place with the big collabs and the Billboard ting dem,” Skeng shared, hinting at bigger international moves to come. With 13th Street Tape, he makes it clear that before the global takeover, his roots remain his priority.
Backed by a powerhouse roster of producers — including Droptop, Countree Hype, Ditruth, JiggyD, and the legendary Fadda Bad — the mixtape stays true to its hardcore dancehall DNA. Notably, the track “Move We A Move” features production from popular influencer Blamdem, adding another layer of curiosity for fans. The project was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Aliendary Prince at Kingston’s famed Shocking Vibes Studio, with much of the recording done at the luxurious GeeJam Studios in Portland.
With visual rollouts accompanying several tracks and official launch events planned for both Jamaica and Miami, the buzz surrounding 13th Street Tape is undeniable. Skeng’s latest release not only reaffirms his dominance in the dancehall space but also serves as a reminder that his connection to the streets remains unbreakable.
