Among the standout moments on Samory I’s third studio album Revelation, few tracks capture the project’s spiritual and social mission quite like “Warning.” Featuring Grammy-winning reggae artiste Keznamdi, the fifth track confronts injustice, materialism and cultural decline while urging listeners to remain steadfast in truth. Now, with its official music video amassing thousands of YouTube views just days after its premiere, the collaboration is emerging as one of the album’s defining records, introducing its timely message to an even wider audience.
Produced by veteran reggae producer Clive Hunt, Warning blends roots reggae with contemporary influences while staying firmly grounded in Rastafarian philosophy. Samory I opens the track with a call to resist oppression, reject fear and persevere despite adversity, while Keznamdi reinforces the message by challenging materialism, warning against the erosion of cultural values and encouraging authenticity in an increasingly superficial world. Together, the pair deliver a powerful social commentary that aligns seamlessly with the overarching themes of Revelation, an 11-track project centred on truth, spiritual awakening, resilience, love and personal growth. Released on May 29 through TunUp Squad Entertainment, the album reflects Samory I’s artistic evolution and his commitment to creating music designed to “open the eyes, mind, and spirit to deeper truths.”
The collaboration also arrives during one of the most successful periods of Keznamdi’s career. Fresh from winning a Grammy Award for his critically acclaimed album BLXXD & FYAH, the reggae star recently performed before more than 22,000 fans at the Caribbean Night Festival at Eisenhower Park in Long Island, New York, where he closed the showcase after an energetic set from dancehall hitmaker Charly Black. Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants following the event, Keznamdi reflected on the overwhelming response from the audience. “The people appreciated the authentic energy we brought to the event and the music was well received. It gave me a chance to connect with the longtime fans and also introduce my music to a new audience, and for that I am forever grateful,” he said.
The Long Island appearance followed sold-out headline performances at Hotel Café in Los Angeles and SOB’s in New York, while also setting the stage for his upcoming BLXXD & FYAH Live U.S. tour with Live Nation, which will visit San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York this October. Keznamdi has also revealed that he is already back in the studio working on new music with Samory I, suggesting their creative partnership extends well beyond Warning. As the music video continues its upward trajectory online and Revelation finds new listeners, the collaboration stands as a compelling reminder that conscious reggae remains a powerful force, capable of delivering meaningful messages without sacrificing musical appeal.
