With his latest single Like How Yuh Feel continuing to generate strong momentum and a new project officially in development, Aidonia is heading into another busy weekend. The dancehall heavyweight is set for back-to-back performances in New Jersey and Atlanta, appearing at BRT Weekend’s Midnight in Tokyo on Friday before taking over Rum Island Festival on Saturday. The high-profile bookings arrive just weeks after management confirmed that a new body of work is on the way, although fans are still waiting to learn whether it will be an EP or the entertainer’s long-awaited next studio album.
Aidonia will first headline Midnight in Tokyo on July 10 during the 10th anniversary staging of BRT Weekend in Atlantic City, sharing the stage with Sizzla, Gyptian, Valiant and Nigy Boy. Less than 24 hours later, the 4th Genna deejay will head south to Atlanta for Rum Island Festival at Piedmont Park, where he joins Ayetian and Denise Belfon for another highly anticipated performance. The double booking further highlights Aidonia’s continued demand on the international live circuit as promoters continue to secure one of dancehall’s most consistent performers.
The performances come as excitement continues to build around Like How Yuh Feel, which recently topped Apple Music charts across several Caribbean territories, including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and the British Virgin Islands. The single has added fresh momentum to Aidonia’s summer campaign, which also included a commanding appearance at the 2026 St. Kitts Music Festival alongside Masicka, Mavado and Kranium.
Meanwhile, anticipation remains high for Aidonia’s next release. Speaking previously with Prism Marketing Consultants, the artiste’s brother and manager, Lav “Lalo” Lawrence, confirmed that a new project is currently in development but declined to reveal whether it will be an EP or a full-length album. “We are currently working on a new project, that’s all I can say at this time,” Lawrence stated. The upcoming release will mark Aidonia’s first official body of work since Occupied Mind, his emotionally driven 2023 project that showcased a more reflective side of the veteran entertainer following the passing of his son, Khalif Lawrence.
With a hit single gaining traction, a packed performance schedule and a mystery project steadily taking shape behind the scenes, Aidonia appears to be entering another significant chapter in his career. As fans in New Jersey and Atlanta prepare for a weekend of live dancehall, attention is already turning to what could become one of the genre’s most anticipated releases of the year.
