Dancehall heavyweights Aidonia and Alkaline are set to headline La Playa Privada at Antigua’s Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on July 26, bringing together two of the genre’s biggest names at a time when both are enjoying major regional success. Presented by One World Entertainment, the event will also feature performances from Skippa and Stalk Ashley, adding further star power to what is shaping up to be one of the Caribbean’s biggest dancehall showcases of the summer. Aidonia arrives with Like How Yuh Feel continuing to climb across Caribbean streaming platforms and anticipation building for his next project, while Alkaline continues his impressive run with NPT and the renewed resurgence of his classic album New Level Unlocked.
Aidonia has enjoyed one of his busiest summers in recent years. Like How Yuh Feel recently topped Apple Music charts across several Caribbean territories, including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and the British Virgin Islands, reinforcing the single’s growing popularity. The momentum follows standout performances at the 2026 St. Kitts Music Festival and consecutive appearances in New Jersey and Atlanta earlier this month. Meanwhile, excitement continues to build around the deejay’s next body of work after his brother and manager, Lav “Lalo” Lawrence, previously confirmed to Prism Marketing Consultants that a new project is currently in development. “We are currently working on a new project, that’s all I can say at this time,” Lawrence revealed, while declining to confirm whether the release will be an EP or a full-length album.
Alkaline is also entering the Antigua show with strong commercial momentum. His latest album, NPT, continues to perform across the Caribbean, securing Top 10 Apple Music album positions in Jamaica, Guyana, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Lucia. At the same time, his landmark 2016 album New Level Unlocked has enjoyed a fresh resurgence, recently re-entering the Guyana Apple Music Top Albums chart a decade after its original release. The rare achievement has further highlighted the Vendetta deejay’s catalogue strength while demonstrating the staying power of one of dancehall’s defining albums of the streaming era.
With two of dancehall’s most influential artistes sharing the same stage while enjoying simultaneous chart success, expectations are high for La Playa Privada. As Aidonia prepares to usher in a new chapter of his career and Alkaline continues to prove his lasting commercial appeal, Antigua is set to host one of the most anticipated live dancehall events of the year.
