Reigning queen of Dancehall Spice proved her global star power over the weekend after pulling a reported 30,000 fans to Lugogo Cricket Oval, before being left emotional by a surprise appearance from Tanzanian superstar Harmonize, who stunned the massive crowd with his cameo during her sold-out Uganda concert. The high-energy event marked one of the biggest dancehall showcases in the region this year, with fans packing the venue to maximum capacity as Spice delivered an explosive performance in Kampala on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

However, it was Harmonize’s unexpected appearance that became one of the night’s most talked-about moments. Speaking on stage, Spice admitted she initially did not believe the Tanzanian hitmaker when he told her he planned to attend the concert, explaining that she had neither booked nor paid him for a performance. “First of all, I didn’t believe him when he told me he was coming to my concert here in Uganda. I was like, how? I didn’t even pay him or give him any money, so I thought it was not serious. But he really showed up,” Spice told the roaring crowd. The dancehall queen went on to praise Harmonize for his support, adding that his decision to perform without payment reflected genuine love for the fans and the culture. “Harmonize loves you all so much. He even texted me and said ‘I am coming,’ and still I didn’t believe it. He is here for free, and we appreciate him so much,” she added.

The emotional exchange added another layer to what had already been a landmark night for African and Caribbean music unity. Fans erupted as Harmonize joined Spice on stage, with social media quickly flooding with clips from the surprise performance. Meanwhile, the concert also represented a major win for the Uganda Tourism Board, which partnered with Spice ahead of the event as part of its wider push to strengthen Uganda’s tourism and entertainment sectors through global music influence.

The move follows Spice’s highly publicised visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary earlier in the week, where she participated in a rhino naming ceremony linked to Uganda’s conservation campaign. With a sold-out concert, viral fan reactions and cross-cultural collaboration now dominating headlines, Spice’s Uganda run has become far more than a performance tour—it is shaping up as a defining moment for dancehall’s growing impact across Africa and the global entertainment landscape.
