Almost four years after celebrating his release from U.S. prison, Jamaican dancehall artiste Flippa Moggela, given name Andrew Kendrick Davis, is once again behind bars in the United States, now facing serious federal drug charges involving cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. Federal prosecutors allege Davis, along with three co-accused, was linked to a months-long narcotics operation spanning multiple jurisdictions. He remains in custody as he awaits a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday, May 14, in a case that has generated significant attention across the Caribbean diaspora and entertainment circles.
According to court filings, investigators say the case was developed over a nine-month surveillance operation that included wiretaps, monitored communications, and alleged interceptions of drug shipments. Authorities also claim they executed digital searches that uncovered material from Davis’ iCloud account, including suspected paraphernalia images and documents believed to be linked to narcotics distribution activity. The complaint further alleges that intercepted conversations and logistical records helped establish connections between Davis and the wider alleged operation.
The three co-accused named in the federal complaint — Damion Jones, James McBride and Clifford Brown — are also facing drug trafficking-related charges. Prosecutors allege the group operated within a coordinated distribution network involving controlled substances, including fentanyl, which has been at the centre of intensified U.S. enforcement efforts due to its role in the ongoing opioid crisis.
Davis was previously convicted in a separate U.S. federal drug case and released under parole supervision in 2022 after serving a significant portion of his sentence. His return to custody marks a major development in a case that is still unfolding, with all allegations yet to be tested in court. He remains detained ahead of his upcoming bail hearing, while authorities continue to present evidence in what is expected to be a closely watched federal proceeding.
