Dancehall powerhouses Vybz Kartel and Shenseea are proving once again that their musical chemistry is no fluke. Just weeks after the viral success of Panic, the pair’s latest collaboration Talk To Me Nuh has exploded onto the scene, debuting at No.1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Songs Chart within hours of its release while the official music video rapidly amassed hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. The track has also entered Jamaica’s YouTube Trending Music Chart, occupying the No. 27 spot and signalling strong demand from both local and diaspora audiences.
The release marks the duo’s second collaboration in less than a month and follows the impressive performance of Panic, which has already surpassed 3.7 million views on YouTube since its debut three weeks ago. The single is currently sitting at No.10 on Jamaica’s YouTube Trending Music Chart, reinforcing the renewed momentum surrounding Kartel’s catalogue and his growing presence across streaming platforms.
Kartel’s dominance on the platform continues beyond the two collaborations. The dancehall icon currently holds five entries inside Jamaica’s YouTube Top 30 Trending Music Chart, including Disgrace with Likkle Vybz at No.14, Onslaught at No.16, and SYM on the WYFL Riddim at No.25. The surge highlights Kartel’s enduring influence on the genre and the appetite for new material following his highly publicised return to recording and performance.
For Shenseea, the collaboration carries personal significance. The international star previously described working with Kartel as a “dream come true,” calling him one of her musical inspirations and praising his creativity and artistry during their studio sessions. Their history stretches back to 2017 with the breakout single Loodi, but this time the creative process unfolded in person, allowing the artists to quickly craft multiple songs together.
Meanwhile, Shenseea’s global run continues beyond the charts. She recently secured five nominations at the International Reggae and World Music Awards and is also set to perform at the MOBO Awards in England later this month, where she is nominated for Best Caribbean Music Act. With Talk To Me Nuh already making waves worldwide, the collaboration signals that both artists may only be getting started in what is shaping up to be another dominant year for dancehall on the global stage.
