Dancehall star Popcaan has shut down rumours of an upcoming performance in Ghana, after fan-made promotional artwork began circulating online in the wake of Stonebwoy’s highly anticipated 2025 Bhimfest announcement. The unofficial flyers, which featured the Unruly Boss as part of the December 26 lineup, quickly gained traction across social media and sparked excitement among Ghanaian fans. But Popcaan wasted no time setting the record straight, confirming he has no scheduled appearance in Ghana next month—at least not yet.
The clarification came via X, where Popcaan addressed the rumours with a direct message to his supporters. “To the loyal unruly fans in Ghana, I have no knowledge of me performing in Ghana Dec 26. Whenever I’m performing, you will all know, and it will be a celebration and a lifestyle moment that is long overdue,” he wrote, assuring fans that any official concert announcement would come from him. The post arrives as Bhimfest — founded by Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy — gears up for its tenth anniversary at the Accra Sports Stadium, an event that traditionally reunites African and Caribbean talent under one musical banner.

Popcaan’s denial comes amid a particularly active period in his career. Just weeks ago, he announced his upcoming 12-track EP Nothing Without God, releasing November 7 and offering a more reflective, spiritual chapter in his artistic journey. The project features collaborations with Chronic Law and his brother Natebadz, along with production from Anju Blaxx, Droptop Records, Damage Music, Disaster Music, and his nephew Joel Engineer. According to his manager, Cobe, the EP represents “a new level of maturity and faith,” signalling Popcaan’s evolution as both an artist and a man.
The EP also marks Popcaan’s continued transition into full independence following his 2023 OVO Sound release Great Is He. Coupled with the recent tease of a Canadian edition of Unruly Fest, the St. Thomas native is carving out a new era rooted in purpose, personal growth, and global vision. And while Ghana may not be on the books for December 26, Popcaan’s message suggests that a celebratory return to the Motherland is still on the horizon — just on his own terms.
