Jamaica’s stars continue to shine on the global stage, with six of the island’s leading entertainers nominated for the 2025 African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA). At the forefront are Masicka and Shenseea, who each secured three nominations, while Spice, Skillibeng, Popcaan, and Shaneil Muir also earned well-deserved nods, underscoring Jamaica’s continued dominance across the Afro-Caribbean entertainment landscape.
Masicka’s strong showing includes nominations for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, People’s Choice, and Best Collaboration for his cross-continental hit “Fight For Us” featuring Nigerian songstress Fave. The recognition caps off an impressive year for the dancehall lyricist, whose artistry and global collaborations continue to redefine the boundaries of the genre.
Shenseea also picked up three nominations — Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, International Artist of the Year, and Best Collaboration for “Shake It To The Max (Fly) [Remix]”, a vibrant fusion featuring MOLIY, Skillibeng, and Silent Addy. Her presence in both regional and international categories highlights her growing influence as one of dancehall’s most recognisable crossover figures.
Reigning Queen of Dancehall Spice earned two nominations — Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist and International Artist of the Year — cementing her continued relevance and reign as one of Jamaica’s most impactful female entertainers. Skillibeng, now a two-time nominee this year, joins the Best Collaboration category for his work on “Shake It To The Max (Fly) [Remix]”, reflecting his ongoing rise in global music circles.
Meanwhile, Popcaan remains a formidable force, earning a nomination for Best Reggae/Dancehall Artist, while Shaneil Muir makes her mark with a nod in the People’s Choice category — signalling her growing international recognition and expanding fan base.
