Grammy-winning producer and global hitmaker DJ Khaled is officially set to touch down in Jamaica this December as one of the headliners for Mavado’s long-awaited “Return of the Gully Gad” concert at Plantation Cove in St Ann. The event, scheduled for December 27, marks a powerful reunion between the Miami mogul and the Cassava Piece star, and promises to be one of the most talked-about live shows of the season. Khaled confirmed his appearance Thursday via Instagram, sending fans into a frenzy with a post declaring, “I’m on the rock December 27 (JM)… @mavadogully put the call in so you know I’m there! Jamaica, let’s make more history!”

The announcement comes amid a celebratory moment for both artistes. Mavado, born David Brooks, made a highly publicized return to Jamaica last week after nearly a decade away. His long-standing 2018 warrant was officially dropped, clearing the path for his first major hometown performance in years. The “Weh Dem a Do” deejay’s comeback has already sparked massive anticipation, with tickets now on sale at reggaefest.com. Fans are expecting a sold-out event, powered by the same momentum that made CJ Milan’s Reggae Fest brand a game-changer in dancehall promotion earlier this year, following her historic Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel Barclays Center concerts.

Meanwhile, DJ Khaled continues to dominate international charts with his latest collaboration, “You Remind Me,” which this week climbed to No. 27 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart. The all-star single — featuring Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Mavado, RoryStoneLove, and Kaylan Arnold — appears on his forthcoming album Aalam of God (We the Best/Def Jam). The track not only reinforces Khaled’s deep connection to Jamaican music but also reunites some of dancehall’s most influential figures on one record, a feat fans have been waiting almost 20 years to see.

With Mavado’s emotional return, Khaled’s island arrival, and CJ Milan’s growing legacy of delivering historic shows, “Return of the Gully Gad” is shaping up to be more than just a concert — it’s a celebration of dancehall’s global reach, unity, and rebirth.
