The reigning Queen of Dancehall, Spice, set the Wireless Festival ablaze this past weekend—not just with her high-octane performance, but with a bold and unexpected revelation. Mid-set on day three of the star-studded event, which closed with Canadian rap giant Drake, Spice paused to address the massive UK crowd and dropped a heartfelt confession. “To anyone, anywhere in the world, this is the first time I’ll be opening up and confessing this truth to all of you at Wireless today. I have a crush on Drake… I’m going to make a song so you can sing it for him later when he comes out,” she declared, drawing screams of excitement and surprise. The Jamaican star then dedicated a sultry remix of Drake’s “One Dance” to the rapper, fanning flames of viral buzz across social media.

Spice’s Wireless appearance marked another powerful chapter in her legacy, reminding the world not only of her unmatched stage presence but also of her position as one of dancehall’s fiercest global ambassadors. Her set was a vibrant display of female empowerment, raw energy, and Caribbean pride—traits that have become synonymous with her brand. Backed by her signature troupe of dancers, she ran through a string of fan favourites, leaving no doubt about her dominance in the genre.

Just weeks before this unforgettable moment, Spice made headlines for a historic milestone: her global hit “Go Down Deh,” featuring fellow Jamaican icons Sean Paul and Shaggy, was certified Gold in France by SNEP (Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique), equivalent to 15 million streams. The 2021 anthem, already hailed as a modern dancehall classic, has also been certified Platinum in Canada and Gold in the United States—making her the first Jamaican female solo artist since Diana King to reach Gold status in the U.S. with “Shy Guy” in 1995.

“Thanks for re-writing my story. My 2 Legends came together and created a historical moment,” Spice said in response to a congratulatory video from Shaggy and Sean Paul. The track, pulled from her Grammy-nominated debut album 10, has racked up more than 200 million streams on Spotify and over 306 million views on YouTube, solidifying Spice’s status as a true global powerhouse.

Between her record-breaking certifications and that unforgettable Wireless confession, Spice continues to prove she’s not only dancehall royalty—but a fearless, headline-making force unafraid to wear her heart on her sleeve. Whether it’s conquering international charts or candidly professing love for one of music’s biggest stars, Spice remains unapologetically herself—and the world can’t get enough.
