Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea has unlocked a defining moment in her career, landing a high-profile feature on Mariah Carey’s latest single, “Sugar Sweet”, released Friday, July 25. The summer-ready anthem also features Kehlani and serves as the second official single from Carey’s highly anticipated 16th studio album, Here For It All, which is set for release on September 26 via Gamma. The track offers a vibrant blend of pop, R&B, and Caribbean textures, with Shenseea’s signature dancehall flair shining through. Speaking on the album during a recent Apple Music special, Carey described “Sugar Sweet” as “very summery,” adding that she was “very excited” about the single’s release.
This collaboration is another major co-sign for Shenseea, who continues to carve her path across the global stage. Her feature arrives just as she wraps up a 9-city European tour, which kicked off in Brussels and included stops in Paris, Cologne, Toulouse, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, and The Hague, where she headlined Sunsplash Festival on July 13. Fueling its success was a viral dance challenge and strong club and digital airplay, especially in the U.S. and UK.
