Grammy-winning producer Ainsley ‘Notnice’ Morris is back in album mode, just one week after being honoured at the Wray & Nephew Super Finals at Jamaica’s National Stadium. The recognition, which celebrated his impactful contributions to dancehall music, appears to have reignited the fire behind the legendary hitmaker. “It’s a significant achievement,” Notnice told Prism Marketing Consultants, describing the accolade as a major confidence booster and the fuel needed for his next major project—Kyng Midas 2.0.
A follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2019 debut Kyng Midas, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, the upcoming project is expected to raise the bar even higher. The original 18-track compilation boasted an all-star lineup including Popcaan, Dexta Daps, Bounty Killer, Jah Vinci and Sean Paul, and marked Notnice’s first solo Billboard entry. “This is different… this album is all me—a full compilation. So it means more to me,” he previously said about Kyng Midas. While details around Kyng Midas 2.0 remain under wraps, the producer hinted that it will include reggae and dancehall heavyweights—and maybe even a few surprises.
Notnice isn’t just focused on his own artistry. The Notice Records honcho is also laser-focused on elevating his signees, particularly velvet-voiced songstress Nordia Mothersille and fan-favourite Jah Vinci. Nordia, who was recently spotted in studio with the legendary Clive Hunt, continues to gain momentum with her singles Greatness (I Am) and Ms. Honda, both seeing steady growth in digital streams and diaspora radio play. Jah Vinci, on the other hand, is enjoying viral success with his sultry hit Scream, which has surpassed 6.7 million views on YouTube, thanks in part to its undeniable appeal with female audiences.
With momentum building from all directions, Notnice’s return to album territory isn’t just timely—it’s poised to impact the industry once again.
