Award-winning dancehall singer Jah Vinci continues to make inroads on the global music scene. The artist, known to fans as the “World Singa,” has secured not one, but two entries on Billboard’s Reggae/Dancehall Fresh Picks of the Month with his soul-stirring singles “Cover Me” and “Save Me.” This recognition follows a string of high-profile career milestones, including his recent win for Best Singjay Entertainer at the 42nd annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) and the viral success of his music video Scream, which has now surpassed 6.3 million views on YouTube.

Billboard lauded “Cover Me” for its fusion of gospel-reggae undertones and contemporary trap elements, noting: “Back with another powerful message that bridges the sanctified nature of gospel reggae with the street-adjacent feel of trap 808s and Auto-Tuned crooning, Jah Vinci has another winner… Aided by a backing choir, Jah Vinci pleads for Jah to ‘cover [him] with His love and make him whole again’ — a moment of musical humility that finds him submitting to the Most High and spreading his message to the rest of the world.” Such praise from a major U.S.-based music publication marks a significant nod for a genre that has historically been underrepresented in mainstream charts despite its deep cultural impact.

Jah Vinci’s Billboard placements arrive in the wake of standout international appearances, including recent performances alongside Vybz Kartel at a pair of sold-out shows at New York’s Barclay Center. His IRAWMA win in Florida further cements his status as a leading voice in modern Dancehall—a genre that emerged from Jamaica in the late 1970s and has since influenced global music trends, from reggaeton to Afrobeats. The IRAWMA, now in its 42nd year, is one of the longest-running awards honouring reggae and world music, and Jah Vinci’s triumph reflects both his consistency and evolution as an artist.

As Billboard’s Fresh Picks continues to spotlight emerging and influential Caribbean talents, Jah Vinci’s dual entries place him among an elite cadre of artists pushing the genre forward. Joining names like Patrice Roberts, Tifa, and Ky-Mani Marley on the list, his presence underscores not only his enduring relevance but also his versatility in a changing musical landscape. With compelling lyrical content, strategic collaborations, and cross-genre experimentation, Jah Vinci is clearly not just riding a wave — he’s helping shape its direction.
