Dancehall artiste Laa Lee is counting his blessings after a high-speed crash wrecked his black Honda Civic motorcar early Sunday morning. The entertainer, known for hits like Tip Inna It and Bird, was at Taboo, a popular exotic nightclub on Constant Spring Road, when a white BMW slammed into his parked vehicle. Fortunately, Laa Lee was not inside the car at the time. The artiste said he learnt about the accident via an announcement by the club disc jock.

The incident occurred just hours after Laa Lee attended Jo Mersa Marley’s birthday celebration at the Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road. According to reports, the BMW was allegedly speeding when the driver lost control, crashing into Laa Lee’s car. It remains unclear what’s the current state of the BMW’s driver. Taking to Instagram to express his gratitude, Laa Lee wrote, “Can’t touch the lion ? he’s so humble. Wanna praise and thank the Most High I was never in that car ??? #GodIsGood.”

His manager, Grammy-winning music producer and businessman Comar ‘Frankie’ Campbell, shared that while he was initially alarmed upon hearing the news, he was relieved that no one from Laa Lee’s team was injured. Campbell also expressed concern for the other driver and urged motorists to prioritize road safety. In 2024, Jamaica recorded 364 road fatalities, averaging nearly one death per day. This figure represents a 14% decrease compared to the 425 deaths recorded in 2023, highlighting the ongoing danger reckless driving poses on the island’s roads.

Despite the scare, Laa Lee remains focused on his music. On the musical from the entertainer is set to release two new singles with accompanying visuals, courtesy of Frankie Music and Zimmi Entertainment. With his high-energy performances and infectious sound, the deejay continues to etch his place in dancehall.
