Usain Bolt Breaks Silence: Opens Up About SSL Fraud, Marriage, Music, Government, and Jacket Rumours

In a candid and telling interview with The FIX Podcast, legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt spoke openly about his ongoing financial battle with Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL), distrust of government, and personal matters, including marriage, fatherhood, and even rumours of paternity fraud. The retired track icon, now a businessman and music producer, also reflected on his athletic legacy, his connection to dancehall culture, and his philanthropic efforts in Jamaica.

The SSL scandal, which surfaced in January 2023, saw Bolt allegedly losing approximately $12.8 million from his investment portfolio. Over two years later, the issue remains unresolved, leaving Bolt and dozens of other victims in financial limbo. The case has fueled growing public distrust in the Jamaican government and financial institutions, as many question why justice has been so slow.

Beyond financial woes, Bolt touched on his personal life, including his long-term relationship with Kasi Bennett. While the couple has been together for years and shares three children, Bolt has not yet tied the knot, despite persistent speculation. He also addressed jacket rumours—a Jamaican term for paternity fraud—acknowledging the gossip but making his thoughts on his children clear.

Shifting gears, Bolt expressed his deep love for music, a passion that has led him to dabble in music production. Having worked with top dancehall and reggae artists, he has reaffirmed his commitment to the industry. His admiration for dancehall legend Vybz Kartel was evident, and he also spoke on former Portmore Empire member Gaza Indu, who recently revealed that Bolt personally helped fund her cancer treatment when she was in need.

Bolt also discussed his philanthropic efforts, emphasizing his commitment to giving back to Jamaica through the Usain Bolt Foundation, which focuses on education and youth development. His charity has supported numerous students with scholarships and has invested in sports programs across the island, reinforcing his legacy beyond athletics.

This rare interview provided fans with a deeper understanding of Usain Bolt—not just as a sprinting icon but as a businessman, family man, and cultural figure navigating the complexities of fame, finance, and personal growth. Whether tackling financial setbacks, embracing fatherhood, or pursuing his musical dreams, Bolt remains steadfast in his mission to inspire and uplift both Jamaica and the world. The interview is slated to be aired on Monday, February 10th.
