Jamaican singer and Grammy-certified songwriter Nordia Mothersille has officially released her much-anticipated debut EP, Broken Child, a 7-track set that explores themes of heartbreak, resilience, and love. Released under the reputed Notnice Records on Thursday, November 7, 2024, the project has already made a strong impression, debuting at No.4 on the U.S iTunes Reggae Albums Chart. Expressing her gratitude for the early success, Mothersille told Prism Marketing Consultants,
“I’m overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. This is my first project, so you never know what to expect. I’m beyond grateful and happy right now! Grateful for my team. God is good!”
The Broken Child EP marks a significant moment for Mothersille, who initially teased the project over the summer, sharing glimpses of what fans could expect during an interview with Entertainment Report. At the time, she was particularly enthusiastic about a collaboration with dancehall heavyweight Chronic Law, a track she believes will resonate deeply with listeners. “I have a song with Chronic Law that I am very excited for everyone to hear. It’s something I think a lot of people will be able to pull some feelings from,” she shared. Known for her soulful voice and evocative storytelling, Mothersille’s EP seems poised to connect with audiences drawn to introspective, emotionally driven music.
Broken Child also showcases her versatility, blending her songwriting talent with the dark, introspective artistry Chronic Law brings to the table. This synergy not only broadens the appeal of the project but highlights Mothersille’s growth as an artist, offering fans a deeper, more personal look into her experiences. As she continues to promote the EP, this debut effort underscores her dedication to crafting music that speaks to universal themes, solidifying her presence in the reggae scene and beyond.
