Jamaican-American rapper Busta Rhymes is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, joining a prestigious group of 36 entertainers honoured for their contributions to the entertainment industry. This recognition places him among other notable Jamaicans and Jamaican-Americans who have received stars, including Bob Marley, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kerry Washington.
Chronicling the occassion Busta Rhymes expressed his excitement via Instagram, stating, “THE BLESSINGS DON’T STOP SO WE WON’T EVER STOP!! THE DRAGON 🐉 IS OFFICIALLY APART OF THE CLASS OF 2025 HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME AND I WILL BE OFFICIALLY RECEIVING MY HOLLYWOOD STAR!!”
The Hollywood Walk of Fame, a historic landmark located on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California, features over 2,700 brass stars embedded in the sidewalks. These stars honour prominent figures from various entertainment fields, including film, television, music, and radio. The announcement of the newest inductees was made during a celebrity-studded press conference at Ovation Hollywood on June 24.
The 2025 class of inductees is diverse, featuring posthumous honours for music icon Prince and country legend Keith Urban, as well as recognition for musicians Fantasia and The Isley Brothers. Other notable honorees include American ballet dancer Misty Copeland and actors Nia Long, Jane Fonda, and Colin Farrell.
