Renowned artiste manager, music producer, and A&R executive at Atlantic UK, Squidell, was recently spotted in Portland, Jamaica. Over the weekend, the music industry stalwart, whose real name is Demonie Wilson, was photographed alongside Jamaican dancehall stars Popcaan and Govana and prominent U.K. talents, Mahalia, Knucks, and Eric IV. This gathering has sparked curiosity and speculation within the music community regarding potential collaborative projects.
Prism Marketing Consultants understands that Squidell is in Jamaica working on several high-profile projects with the aforementioned talents. While he remained tight-lipped about the specifics, the music executive turn author did reveal his plans to host a special book signing and meet and greet session on Wednesday, May 29. The event, scheduled from 7-9 pm, will unfold at The Street Supply, Dubwise Cafe, located at 82 Lady Musgrave Road in Kingston. This session offers a unique opportunity for members of the entertainment and reading communities to interact with him, purchase a copy of his latest book, and have it autographed.
Squidell’s forthcoming book, titled Essential Notes—A Glimpse into the Reality of the Music Industry, provides an insider’s perspective on the often unseen challenges of the music world. Written over the course of four years and edited by Jesse Serwer, co-founder and director of The LargeUp Agency, the 300-page publication serves as both a memoir and a guidebook for aspiring musicians. It aims to navigate readers through the complexities and pitfalls of the industry. The book is set for official release in select stores across Jamaica and the U.K. on May 28, 2024, and will also be available in ebook formats online.
