Martin’s International, renowned for producing four prominent special events, has unveiled its positively anticipated calendar for the 2024 awards and festivals.
For the past four years, Kingston, Jamaica, has been the proud host of the annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA). Following the resounding success of the 40th IRAWMA celebration on the island, Dr. Ephraim Martin, the famed producer and president of Martin’s International, has announced the grand return of the 41st IRAWMA to South Florida.
Scheduled for Friday, March 22, 2024, the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale will serve as the distinguished venue for this prestigious event. A total of 37 nominated categories will feature awards recognizing outstanding achievements in the music and related industries. Furthermore, there will be Special Awards of Honor bestowed upon individuals who have made exceptional contributions to these domains. Notably, the 2024 edition introduces four new nominated categories: Best Singjay Artiste, Dancehall Performer of the Year, Best African Entertainer, and Best Social Media Influencer.
In an exciting development, the second IRAWMA Best Song Contest is officially open to all entertainers, providing an opportunity to submit their songs via martinsinternational1982@gmail.com. Submissions must consist of a two-minute song/video in MP4 format, emphasizing the pivotal role IRAWMA has played in the industry over the past 41 years. The winner of the 40th IRAWMA was History Man.
This marks the eighth time that South Florida will host this iconic reggae and world music extravaganza, a unique event that has celebrated the contributions of reggae, Caribbean, African, and other world music industry members for over four decades. The 35th IRAWMA, held in South Florida in 2016, set historical records and served as a testament to the visionary founder, Dr. Martin.
Another jewel in Martin’s International’s crown, the African/Caribbean International Festival of Life (IFOL), which is commemorating its 31st anniversary, is scheduled for July 4-7, 2024, at Washington Park in Chicago, Illinois. Notably, the IFOL will be integrated with the 42nd annual Chicago Music Awards on July 5, 2024, a partnership that reflects the event’s enduring legacy and importance in the industry over the past three decades.
