On a vibrant Friday night in New York City, the iconic Jamaican flag soared high as dancehall stars Sean Paul and Teejay graced the stage at the Hot 97 ’50 Years Of Hip-Hop’ showcase held at Madison Square Garden.
This remarkable event, titled “Hip Hop Forever,” celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary and featured stellar performances by luminaries like French Montana, Wu-Tang Clan, EPMD, Diddy and Mary J. Blige. It comes as part of a series of events marking this significant milestone for the genre.
Teejay and Sean Paul, both native Jamaican talents, added a vibrant Caribbean flavour to the night. They joined an illustrious lineup of hip-hop legends who’ve come together to honour the genre’s rich history. Teejay shared the memorable occasion on his social media, posting pictures with fellow artists like Coi Leray and French Montana. Sean Paul, equally excited, expressed his gratitude and respect for the legends who have contributed to the culture, emphasizing the enduring connection between hip-hop and dancehall. The Billboard Latin Music Awards, celebrating its 30th anniversary, will take place on October 5, 2023, at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida. This esteemed event recognizes and honours artists from various Latin genres, spanning pop, rock, tropical, Mexican regional music, and Reggaeton.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on Telemundo, Universo, Peacock, and the Telemundo App, providing a platform to celebrate artists who’ve contributed significantly to these genres.
