Burgeoning dancehall sensation Najeeriii has found himself embroiled in controversy and has moved to address accusations raised against him by concertgoers and fans on various social media platforms.
During his most recent performance at Hope Gardens over the Jamaica Independence weekend, the artist responded to a viral incident that transpired at the Tuff Crowd Bikini Soca Cooler Fete held at the Woodleigh Sporting Complex in May Pen, Clarendon, a week prior.
Video footage captured the moment when a female fan climbed onto the stage while Najeerii was performing, seemingly attempting to engage with the artist with a bear-like hug. The artist’s reaction involved him shrugging her off, leading to her falling, albeit briefly, to the ground. She swiftly regained her composure and left the stage area.
Taking the opportunity to address the incident during his recent performance, Najeerii clarified his stance on the matter. He emphasized that he vehemently opposes violence against women but also stressed the importance of maintaining personal space, safety, and boundaries.
“Mi want oonu know sey Bob does not condone, tolerate or promote violence against women in any way shape or form but at the same time we haffi a promote self-protection, boundaries and personal space,” he asserted.
Najeerii has rapidly risen on the dancehall scene over the past few months. While his tracks may not receive extensive mainstream airplay, he has garnered significant attention online, amassing impressive views with several viral offerings such as ‘GOON,‘ ‘Paddle Boat,’ and ‘Panton.’
