Reggae vocalist Christopher Martin has achieved another notable milestone in his music career, joining the esteemed group of Jamaican entertainers who have attained gold status.
His 2010 collaboration with German reggae singer Gentleman has been certified gold, representing a significant achievement for Martin.
Expressing his elation, Martin shared his excitement, stating, “I feel great; it’s a great feeling.” The song that propelled him to this accomplishment, “To the Top,” was featured on Gentleman’s Diversity album, recorded in Kingston, Jamaica. It achieved remarkable success in Germany, peaking at No.13 on the German National Top 100 chart and also charted in Austria and Switzerland.
The gold certification, issued by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI), the official music industry association in Germany, recognizes the sale of over 200,000 units through physical sales and streaming. Martin expressed his admiration for Gentleman and their shared passion for music, which led to their fruitful collaboration. The opportunity arose when Gentleman visited Jamaica during the production of his Diversity album.
Apart from the successful collaboration with Gentleman, Martin is actively promoting his latest collaborative effort, “Guaranteed,” featuring Bounty Killer and Busy Signal.
As a Digicel Rising Star alum, the “Big Deal” singer continues to significantly impact the contemporary music scene, cementing his reputation as a versatile and accomplished artist.
