Nicki Minaj has announced that her fifth studio album will be released on October 20th, marking her first album in five years.Â
The announcement was made via a tweet, where the Trinidadian rapper shared the release date along with emojis of a CD and a pink bow. Nicki’s previous album, Queen, was released in 2018 and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The announcement of the forthcoming compendium came after Nicki hinted at a tour via Instagram last month. In the caption of a video scored by her collaborative single with Drake and Lil Wayne, “Seeing Green”, she asked her followers if they wanted her to perform the song on the NM5 TOUR and if they wanted a YMCMB Stadium Tour thereafter, amid mentioning that she still learns from the best in the industry and gets to rap with them behind the scenes every day.
While Nicki did not confirm whether her upcoming album would be released via her own record label, Heavy On It, announced earlier this year via her Queen Radio show. Fans eagerly await the new project, which will surely showcase her unique and powerful style as one of the leading female rappers in the industry.
