Alborosie, the Italian-born multi-hyphenated singer, released his latest album, “Destiny“, last Friday in collaboration with Greensleeves Records, VP Records, and Shengen Entertainment. The album features several guest performances from Grammy winners Kabaka Pyramid, Buju Banton, veteran Burro Banton and emerging sensation Jaz Elise. It explores various themes such as faith, life, love, and the power of music that are relatable to the listeners.
The album has received critical acclaim for staying true to the artist’s signature sound of authentic roots rock reggae and dub, embellished with exceptional songwriting skills and lyrical prowess. Alborosie, a disciple of roots reggae music, has released nine albums on the Greensleeves imprint to date.
The album’s lead single, “Viral,” examines the impact of social media on modern society. Despite the temptation of virality, Alborosie prioritizes substance over gimmicks. The song is a contemporary rub-a-dub with a strong bassline, effectively conveying the artist’s message.
Alborosie is currently on a major tour, performing in 31 cities across the West Coast of America, Europe, and Cape Verde. The tour began on May 10 in Portland, Oregon, and will culminate on August 11.
