Rapper Quavo has recently taken to Twitter to announce the title of his upcoming second solo album, Rocket Power, as a tribute to his late Migos bandmate Takeoff, whose 2018 solo debut album was titled The Last Rocket.
Quavo has been using the hashtag #ForTake as he gears up for his next solo album, his first since 2018’s Quavo Huncho, and has paid tribute to Takeoff with a pair of tracks including “Greatness” and “Without You,” which he performed at the Grammys.
While Quavo has not revealed the release date for Rocket Power yet, he has assured fans that the album will feature all of his emotions. He tweeted, “#RocketPower🚀 All My Emotions In This Album No Interviews ♾🔒.”
Following the fatal shooting of his nephew outside a Houston bowling alley in November, Quavo has been keeping Takeoff’s memory alive by using the rocket mantra, which has often been associated with Takeoff. In October, Quavo and Takeoff released their joint album Only Built for Infinity Links.
Despite keeping a relatively low profile in the wake of Takeoff’s death, Quavo recently stepped out to the premiere of Praise This, a Peacock film where he stars alongside Chloe Bailey. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Rocket Power, and it’s clear that Quavo is determined to keep the memory of Takeoff alive through his music.
