Fresh from her performance at Rolling Stone’s Future of Music Showcase in Austin, Texas, Jamaican sensation Koffee is set to take centerstage at the Tobago Jazz Experience 2023.
The festival, the first since 2019, will feature a gospel jazz concert on April 20, Speyside Jazz on April 22, and the grand international night on April 23, with American R&B group Boyz II Men and Koffee headlining the event. The festival, usually held at the Pigeon Point Beach Facility, has been shifted to Parade Grounds, Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
The Tobago Festivals Commission CEO, John Arnold, has expressed his satisfaction with the many local artists on the roster, stating that “we have over 15 Tobagonian artists that are going to be featured this year. I think that speaks to showcasing what is ours, those people who have done the work and have really been out there, and I think that speaks well for the festival.”
Among the local talents confirmed for the event are Blessed Messenger, Positive, Stephanie Joseph, Sharon Phillips, jazz singer Vaughnette Bigford, guitarist Theron Shaw, and saxophonist Tony Paul.
Following her Tobago exploits, Koffee will commence preparation for the Pitchfork Music Festival, set to unfold at Chicago’s Union Park from July 21 to July 23. The ‘Toast‘ hitmaker will perform alongside Bon Iver on the final night.
