Dancehall star Popcaan’s latest album, “Great is He,” has impacted multiple Billboard charts this week.
Released on January 27 on the OVO Sound imprint, the 17-track compilation debuted at No.3 on the Reggae Albums chart and opened at No.14 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, marking the artist’s third entry on this tally, following “Where We Come From” (2014) and “Forever” (2018).
“Great is He” is Popcaan’s fifth album to appear on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, with his previous albums, “Fixtape” (2020), “Where We Come From” (2014), “Forever” (2018), and “Vanquish” (2020), all peaking at the No.2 spot respectively.
Featuring collaborations with Canadian rapper Drake, Chronic Law, former Jamaican beauty queen Toni-Ann Singh, and the African giant Burna Boy, “Great is He” sold 3,200 units in sales and streaming during its first week in the U.S.
The lead single, “We Caa Done“, featuring Drake, has made several in-rows across the digital space, peaking at No.37 on the U.K. Singles chart and reaching No.36 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart before slipping to No.87 this week. The song also debuted at No.37 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay Top 40 chart, giving Popcaan his second entry after “Twist and Turn” featuring Drake and Partynextdoor peaked at the No.30 spot and spent seven weeks on the chart.
