Reggae singer Jah Cure, currently serving time in a Netherlands prison, is set to return to court next Tuesday, August 9, when the judiciary will decide if he will be kept incarcerated during a routine pro forma court session.
Under Dutch laws, it is a requirement that a judgment must be made every ninety days regarding whether or not the suspect will be remanded for an additional period not exceeding three months.
It will be some time before Jah Cure’s trial begins after the Prosecutors filed an appeal against the singer’s acquittal on the attempted murder charge following his sentencing.
Jah Cure’s legal team has also filed an appeal to overturn this attempted manslaughter conviction.
Siccature Alcock, better known by his stage name Jah Cure, was convicted by a Dutch court of attempted manslaughter in March 2022 for the stabbing of a show promoter in October 2021 over unpaid money. He was sentenced to six years in prison. However, he was cleared of all charges related to an alleged attempted murder.
