After a decade away from releasing a studio album, Grammy-nominated reggae artiste Ky-Mani Marley is making his long-awaited return. The son of reggae legend Bob Marley has announced that his eighth studio album, Love & Energy, will arrive on August 28, ending a 10-year wait with a 16-track project that blends conscious messages, personal reflection and an impressive lineup of reggae stars. Released via Konfrontation Muzik Group and Dubshot Records, the album is already available for pre-save across digital platforms.
The announcement comes as anticipation continues to build following the success of Ky-Mani’s Jamaican chart-topping single New Creature, one of several tracks featured on the upcoming project. Love & Energy also includes the previously released All This Love and brings together an impressive cast of reggae veterans and contemporary voices, including Sizzla, Anthony B, Agent Sasco, Bugle, Andrew Tosh, Gyptian, Iba Mahr and Lutan Fyah. The collaborations reinforce the album’s message of unity while showcasing the depth of Jamaica’s reggae talent.
Reflecting on the meaning behind the project, Ky-Mani said Love & Energy is more than simply an album title. “Love & Energy isn’t just an album title. It’s a way of life. Everything in this world is driven by energy, and love is the highest vibration we can give and receive,” he said. The project follows the European leg of his Love & Energy Tour, where audiences were treated to performances of new material, including the unreleased track A Little Bit (I’m Okay) during his appearance at the 40th staging of Germany’s Summerjam Festival.
Momentum is expected to continue later this month when Ky-Mani heads to Toronto for Kaya Fest on August 22, joining brothers Stephen, Julian and Damian Marley on a star-studded line-up that also features Busta Rhymes, Shabba Ranks and Lila Iké. With Love & Energy marking his first studio album in 10 years, the reggae singer is preparing to open a new chapter in his career while continuing the musical legacy that has made the Marley name one of the most influential in global reggae.
